| The stunning Iron Age fort, home to the Litha Vigil 2008 |
Litha, the Summer Solstice has once again
been celebrated in our sacred lands, as we marked the zenith of the power of Karnayna. The annual celebrations of Litha have
been led by myself since 1992 and this year the invitation to attend the annual solemn Soltice Vigil was extended to more
people, due to the launch of our HomoMoot website. Sadly, the weather did not hold for us-so typical of our Welsh weather! Still,
the Vigil fire was lit and Julian kept vigil around the fire all night, chanting and drumming the bodhran through to
dawn. At sunrise, the greetings to Karnayna was made looking east over the stunning ancient Iron Age fort on the Dinas Mountain,
overlooking Julian's village of birth, in the Brecon Beacons national park in South Wales.
Later in the day, on Litha itself, the rites which were unable to
take place through the Vigil , due to the wet weather- took place indoors at Julian's ritual room. Julian would like to personally thank Phil and Gary for their help over
the Litha Vigil.
Blessed be
Julian Riley
